Civil War Ghosts | Civil War Hauntings

Welcome to Civil War Ghosts. First, let me introduce myself to you. My name is Mark Shrigley and I am a supervisor in the IT field at a major auto manufacturer (yeah - great time to be employed by one). Anyway, I do some web optimization (SEO) on the side for a few bucks...but I thought about what I really wanted to do for fun.

I'll be honest - I'm always trying to plug away for more money - and I've been keeping myself from the things I love to do. Well - here it is - I'm going to start blogging away about the civil war - in which I have a true passion for. You can't however, ignore another part about the history of the American Civil War, which would be its ghosts that keep popping up here and there. There are pictures of ghosts at battlefields and the hundreds, perhaps thousands of stories of people seeing ghosts at various battlefields.

Do I believe in ghosts? Well - here's what I think. I believe that whenever a situation happened in history that was so dramatic and filled with so much horror, the person experiencing that died during the terrible event, leaves some sort of energy. I believe that when a person dies, he/she goes to heaven or hell. I don't believe that they hang around this planet - but I do believe that their energy is given off and it stays around for years long after they are gone.

So take the Battle of Gettysburg. The worst battle in American history. It lasted for three days and thousands of soldiers died a horrible death. There is a lot of energy pent up around that area, that even today, people see ghostly forms of men in Union or Confederate uniforms. There have been pictures taken of these "ghosts" and hundreds of people over the years seeing things that they can't explain. So really, even if half of these stories are made up, you can't deny the other stories that are true.

In this blog, I will be writing about different battles, what happened there, and what people are seeing there now on these battlefields. I guess you can say this is writing about history of the civil war and what happened in each battle - but also, what people are seeing presently around these haunted fields.
